HIGHLIGHTS

Taiyo Nippon Sanso Philippines, Inc.
, a
100% subsidiary owed by Ingasco, Incorporated, one of the country’s leading
manufacturers and suppliers of industrial gases has recently inaugurated its
3.50 hectares new air separation plant expansion in Brgy. Pagaspas, Tanauan,
Batangas.
Vice-President Noli de Castro,
senior
government officials lead the switch-on ceremonies held at the Rizal Ballroom of
EDSA Shangrila Hotel in Makati last February 2, 2008. Government officials that
also graced the event were Gov. Armando C. Sanchez of Batangas and Ms. Lilia B.
de Lima, PEZA Director General. Together with Nippon Sanso Corp. Japan (TNSC)
President & CEO, Mr. Hirosuke Matsueda, Ingasco Chairman of the Board, Mr.
Yasunobo Kawaguchi , Director Murphy
Chu, Director Akahiro Marutani, Director Masahiro Shindo, Executive
Vice-President & COO, Mr. Raymond M. Chu and President & CEO, Mr. Hiroshi Nagae.
The new Air Separation Plant was
installed at Philtown Industrial Estate in Tanauan, Batangas with a total lot
area of 3.50 hectares. This ASP plant produces liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen
and liquid pure argon from air by means of air cryogenic separation process. The
plant has a rated air input capacity of 15,700 m3/hr from which the following
products are derived:
a.) Liquid Nitrogen (LIN) 7,000 Nm3/hr
b.) Liquid Oxygen (LOX) 3,000 Nm3/hr
c.) Liquid Argon (LAR) 120 Nm3/hr
The plant operation involves several processes such as air separation,
liquefier/rectification, refrigeration and purification sections which enable
attainment of product purity as high as 0.1 ppm. However, the plant has a total
storage capacity of 1.4 million cubic meters that provides enough inventory and
allows proper scheduling of equipment maintenance.
Last July, TNSPI has commissioned a new hydrogen plant which expects to cater
customers particularly in Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite Areas. It has a rated
production capacity of 100 Nm3/hr and has a guaranteed H2 gas product purity of
99.999%. The production process involves several sub-system operations such as
H2 gas generation, feed water, electrolyte preparation and circulation and H2
gas purifying and loading/filling.
New Hydrogen Plant Commissioned at Taiyo
Nippon Sanso Phils., Inc.
Taiyo
Nippon Sanso Philippines, Inc. (TNSPI), a subsidiary of Ingasco has commissioned
a new hydrogen plant last July 19, 2008. Located in Tanuan Batangas the plant
expects to cater customers particularly in Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite Areas.
This project was spurred by Sales and Marketing requirement to increase the
volume production of Hydrogen as the demand from customer increases particularly
on semicon, electronic, and steel manufacturing industry.
The new plant has a production capacity of 100 Nm3/hr. An addition to the
existing 60 Nm3/hr production of Hydrogen plant in San Simon, Pampanga. This new
plant utilizes Electrolysis process thus; hydrogen is collected from the
decomposition of components of water into Hydrogen and Oxygen.
Supply of Equipment Engineering and construction of the hydrogen plant was
provided by Best Value Trading Company together with their overseas partner
Tianjin Mainland Hydrogen Equipment Co., Ltd. Over-all engineering was handled
by Ingasco Special Project Team in various area of assignments were headed by
Matt Shindo, Ret Sampol, Leo Cuevas, and Nolan Lustre .
Hydrogen was quoted as the “fuel of the future” due to its abundance and non
polluting combustion. Globally there is a growing initiative of developing fuel
cell vehicles powered by hydrogen and study shows that it has the potential to
revolutionize the transportation system, with the increasing oil price in the
market today; we can never tell sooner hydrogen can be a better alternative.
